KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Carry out analysis necessary for development, maintenance and support tasks on new and existing systems as requested resulting in the production of documentation detailing technical work required for requested development, maintenance and support tasks to company standards
• Implement fixes, changes, data extracts, and other requests necessary to provide the required level of support for the existing systems.
• Undertake both unit and stress tests to ensure the quality of any development
• Produce and maintain documentation describing the system such that the documentation reflects functionality within the system.
• To adhere to company designated standards and best practise.
• To communicate clearly and effectively with management and other departments within the organisation as directed to enable visibility and understanding of the development and support work being carried out
• To keep up to date with the languages and technologies required to perform well in the job – currently to include Drupal CMS, PHP, HTML, Javascript, CSS, and MySQL.
• The role is based in Mumbai but will have extensive interaction with other GMS offices around the world. The main purpose of the job is to maintain existing GMS Drupal/PHP based systems and applications. This includes bug fixing, code enhancing, small change requests and any other support tasks that the business requires.
• A secondary purpose is to develop and enhance new and existing GMS Drupal/PHP based systems and applications as directed by the business adhering to the standards and procedures of the company.

Performance Measures
• Bug fixes and small change request must meet the specified functional and technical requirements.
• Coding and programming code must be to corporate standards and completed in exact adherence to the specification and within agreed timescales. Code must be clear and accurate and should be written in such a way as to be easily followed by other members of the team and within the agreed timescales.
• Testing documentation must be retained in specified secure areas and testing must be undertaken within agreed timescales. Tested code must be of a sufficient quality to require minimal reworking after release. To follow agreed company processes

KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Essential
• Graduate in IT or computing related degree.
• Minimum 2 year web application support / support.
• Industry Experience of:
• PHP 2+ years
• Drupal development 1+ years
• MySQL 2+ years
• Strong SQL Skills
• Experience developing / supporting web applications
• HTML, CSS, Javascript

Desirable
• XML
• Subversion (source code control)
• LINUX
• Windows Server
• IIS

Soft Skills
• Good interpersonal skills
• Excellent written communication skills including English
• Customer and commercial awareness
